India report from April 2006

We met in April India married. The visit to the country had several reasons. First of all, our Aikido teachers, Esther-Sensei and Bruno-Sensei, asked if we could take part in one too India trip would be interested. As an Englishwoman, my wife Geraldine has always had a closer connection to the country and wanted to come along. I was hesitant because I knew very little about India and had no expectations of the country. As the wait went on, it became increasingly clear that it was going to be “interesting.” We booked British Airways true to the motto “Fly British – Die British” and Senseis suggested Bernd Symons with the Travel planning to commission. It should after Rajastahan go, a country north-west in India. I kept my personal expectations completely neutral. All I had respect for was the hygienic conditions, which, let me start by saying, were perfect. And oh yes: I really wanted to miss the cobras too.

Guests of Indian families

The basic idea of going to India had no tourist reasons. With the travel order to Bernd Symons (www.Kerala-Discovery.de), we didn't want to be accommodated in five-star hotels, but rather directly Indian families. Our aim was not to be isolated from the Indians in closed hotel complexes, but rather to get to know the people and their culture. That worked – thanks to Bernd Symons. We have completed everything you can see, hear, feel, smell, touch and learn in ten days. The result is a report about India that I would like to write down in the next few days. A little more every day and accompanied by photos of our experiences.
